At The EXIT Program, we believe that alcoholism, drug addiction, sexual abuse and other compulsive behaviors are destructive, progressive, primary illnesses that have far-reaching effects on the dependent person, the family, and the community. We embrace offender reentry from a supportive standpoint using a cognitive behavioral approach to treatment that focuses on an offender's criminogenic needs. The EXIT Program has a Clinical Department administered by qualified, treatment professionals and is a certified Sex Offender Treatment program by The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
The primary goal of our treatment program is to provide adult offenders with 60 - 90 days of cognitive behavioral treatment designed to change offender behavior. Our services empower the offender to remain in society as an accountable, functional, responsible, alcohol crime and drug-free member of the community. Each aspect of the program is aimed at enhancing the individual's sense of self-worth, self-reliance, and self-responsibility for maintaining personal recovery and transition into society. Improvement in family, work, and interpersonal relationships, the development of a support system and the expansion of problem-solving skills are also expected outcomes.
The EXIT Program is pleased to partner with UMADAOP (Urban Minority Alcohol and Drug Abuse Outreach Program, Inc.) in Akron, Cleveland and Cincinnati and their Circle For Recovery Ohio (CFRO) program. CFRO is a community-based reentry program for paroled offenders operated by UMADAOP that is designed to assist male and female offenders to make a healthy and successful transition back into the community. The CFRO program is a supportive resource for these individuals and families and provides curriculums that advocate and help ease the adjustment from incarceration to freedom, including addressing any alcohol or other drug issues. The core thrust of CFRO is to ensure that men and women returning to the community are informed of the diverse social, educational and economic resources available and accessible to them, which can improve their quality of life. The goal of the program is to reduce recidivism and increase the successful reintegration offenders into their home and communities.
