By decreasing hopelessness and despair The Exit Program increases the chances that ex-offenders will not become repeat offenders. In order to participate in The Exit Program ex-offenders must be referred by their supervising officer such as parole officer or another organization from which services are being received. This ensures that all offenders participating in this program are being properly monitored and assisted. These guidelines translate into safe neighborhoods.
